Traffic coatings are flexible, elastomeric membranes applied to concrete decks and walkways. Selection considerations
- Exposure. Exposed top decks see sun and weather; covered levels see mostly traffic. Systems are chosen accordingly.
- Existing condition. Cracks, joints and damaged concrete are repaired and detailed before the membrane is installed.
- Phasing. Garages and walkways are often coated in phases so parts remain open. Plan phasing and cure times with your estimator.
- Maintenance. Traffic coatings wear over time, especially at drive lanes and turns, and should be inspected and recoated as needed.
